So, I'm curious: why does only the mycelium grow upward into the new/second/top layer of agar, while the bacteria stays only on the original/first/lower layer? Also, would this work for every contamination, such as yeast and mold? Or just for bacterial contamination?

What are some details on a good grain spawn mix..i know to some its some secret recipe but im curious if its moist or dry, is it a single grain, is there any nutrition added..thanks in advance for any knowledge 😉

I've been doing virtually the same thing except for using a drill to make the holes. I find that the area around holes start to corrode though after the first few uses. Have you noticed this?

Hello. I liked your channel for its openness. It sounds like you're not keeping secrets. How do you sterilize the pump?

I have used rye spawn bags and just took the cake out of the bag and put it into a humidity chamber and gotten some yield. I'm wondering if I did this with those cakes but instead of vermiculite use a website casing mix or maybe coir. Do you think that would increase the yield? Thnx

This seems great, but I just can't get them to work out. Almost every one has water sloshing around on top of the agar, even if I let the plates cool considerably before pressure cooking. Any advice?
